Brad is a Shareholder of the firm. His practice is devoted to the representation of mortgage bankers and loan originator organizations. Brad has extensive experience advising clients on compliance and licensing issues under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the California Residential Mortgage Lending Act, the California Financing law, HUD/FHA rules and California’s Real Estate Law. He regularly drafts and negotiates MLPA's, warehouse facilities, MSR agreements, wholesale broker agreements, and employment contracts for loan originators. He defends clients in examinations and investigations initiated by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the California Bureau of Real Estate, the California Department of Business Oversight and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He also defends clients in connection with repurchase demands and indemnification claims, and provides legal counsel on a variety of business and employment law issues relevant to the mortgage industry.
Brad is admitted to practice in the State of California and is a member of the Business and Real Estate Sections of the California State Bar. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Eastern and Central Districts of California. He is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, the California Mortgage Bankers Association and the California Association of Mortgage Professionals. Brad is a frequent speaker at industry events hosted by various mortgage industry trade associations.
Previously, Brad was Legal Counsel for a Northern California financial services company where he was responsible for regulatory compliance, employment law matters, company litigation, contract drafting and collections.
Brad received his B.A. in History, with honors, from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1984. He earned his J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law in 1994.
